Launch of Wash Your Eyes Season 4

 

The Screen Directors Guild of Ireland is delighted to launch Season 4 of Wash Your Eyes. This years particular focus is on episodic television and international opportunities for Irish directors. Experienced UK executives will come to Dublin to discuss key trends in TV drama production, the commissioning process, and broadcaster requirements. 


 

Ep. 1: Television Development with Lizzie Gray
 Thursday, June 16th @ 6pm.

Lizzie Gray, Commissioning Editor for Sky, has produced a number of TV series including Waterloo Road, Venus vs. Mars, and You, Me and the Apocalypse, she has also worked as a Script Editor at BBC Scotland's River City for several years and as a Script Executive on Fortitude. Lizzie will talk about the requirements for the development of TV Topics and the commissioning process.

Ep. 2: Key Trends in Episodic Drama with Kenton Allen 

Thursday, July 21st.

Kenton Allen, Chief Executive of Big Talk Productions, is an award-winning programme-maker with credits including the Oscar-winning Six Shooter and BAFTA Award-winning sitcoms Rev and The Royle Family, he has also produced and executive-produced a diverse range of comedy programming including the BAFTA-winning sketch show That Mitchell and Webb Look (BBC Two), and the BAFTA-nominated drama series Funland (BBC Three). Kenton will discuss making television drama in Ireland and the UK and the opportunities available for directors in television.
